A very rare and well carved antique English stone architectural gargoyle sculpture, dating to the Mediaeval period. Designed both as a symbolic and practical protector of a building, funnelling away rainwater. The back of the piece has a carved gully. The early 19th century Georgian carved stone pedestal is not included and is available for sale separately at £3,500. Ref.: 1411.

Size: the sculpture 83 cm high, 45 cm wide, 51 cm deep

Condition: solid structure, age related surface weathering
